Carmela Tfr

Founder, Editor & Creative Director

After a six-years-career in finance in Zurich, I decided to quit my job and become an art historian. In 2015, I enrolled at Christie’s Education in London, MLitt in Modern and Contemporary Art & Art World Practice. Now back in Zurich, I am focusing on my blog while working to pay my bills  😉

About *artemporary

WHAT IS *a: Founded in 2013 in Zurich, *artemporary celebrates Contemporary Art in all its manifestations. From museum exhibitions to international art fairs, from street art to private views and vernissages, *artemporary flirts with the Art of Now in all its forms, by exploring and visiting events in Zurich, London, Milan, Paris, and wherever Carmela travels to.

WHY *a: *artemporary is an independent blog, a space where Art is reviewed with a keen eye and a personal approach, specially conceived for those who think Contemporary Art is not really Art. And that they could also put their shit in a tin can and call it a masterpiece.

Curiosities and random info
I adore Francesco Bonami. His book “Lo potevo fare anch’io” (Mondadori, 2007) is a top recommendation for people who would like to discover contemporary art in its quintessential human side.

I wish I had Peggy Guggenheim’s lifestyle (inc. earrings and sunglasses). And her private art collection.
